Sturdy Rancher Rabbits defender Lee Wan Lai got his break with German sixth division leaders Engellands Fighters, and he will start his professional career with the established Berlin mainstay, who are going for a twelfth league trophy.
It was a tricky choice between Engellands and Romanian club FC Eurom for Lee, with Eurom's head coach Cristian Bârlean selling him on their extensive recruitment drive, but the former's pedigree ultimately convinced him to join them.
Rabbits scout Yip De Da remembered Lee as one who preferred to let his actions do the talking. "He was very hard for all types of opposing forwards to get the better of, having few obvious weak points. In fact, he reminds me of many of our current first-team defenders, at his age; if he could communicate more, he would be a natural leader in many defences."
