Back In The Fray
Abdul bin Jantan's hiatus from football lasted all of three days, with Grilled Birds announcing that they had employed the former midfield regular as a tactical trainer, effective yesterday.
"I was lounging about at home, and it just felt weird not to be driving to the club each morning." he admitted. "I rang Mohd Safri, he put me through to the higher-ups, and well, we came to an agreement very quickly."
Head coach
Djan Bacelar was one of those who pushed the agreement through. "Abdul has built his career on a fine combination of skill and work ethic, which is just what we want to inculcate. He knows how we do things around here, so there shouldn't be any time wasted in getting used to the culture."
Abdul's hiring comes in the wake of a major shake-up in staff organizational guidelines under the Hattrick Association, with spokespersons no longer considered under their administrative structure. Union demands have also led to the introduction of negotiated contracts, with hefty compensation in the case of premature cancellation by clubs.
bin Jantan professed not to know of these changes before his appointment, but hailed the development. "The new improved employment security is attractive." he said. "I've never been exactly great with money, so it comes as a relief."
