New Farmer Bunnies head coach Elias van Dal announced his first signing just a day after his arrival, unveiling 25 year-old American midfielder Ron Murrell. Murrell was headhunted from Pennsylvania-based Division Six club Estrella de Oro Fc, who were willing to let him leave for a token sum of S$10000.

van Dal suggested that Murrell, who can also play in central defence in a pinch, could provide some much-needed on-pitch leadership. "It's best for teams to have an organizer in the middle, and I've heard very good things about Ron in this regard."

Continuing, the Dutchman was unfazed by reports that the Bunnies had been rebuffed in their approaches for Raúl Ortega and Panti Valencia. "Talks are like that, sometimes they don't work out. We have gotten the guy we needed, and that's good enough for me."
