Deinos started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Maxim - Jean-Baptiste, Raković - bin Saad, Konstabler, Gruythuizen, Malagón, Allegrini - Janse, Bojadžić, Jing.

A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. Starters: Tian Han - Bakhtiar, Ross - Ping Shun, Shun An, 长春 (Changchun), Jing Wei, Aik Jia - bin Mohd Kassim, Bacelar, Ying Lee.

The guests almost went up by a goal after 9 minutes when M. bin Mohd Kassim came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. The terraces were silenced after 26 minutes when Grilled's M. bin Mohd Kassim put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. 29 minutes into the game a free kick by W. Ping Shun found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making Grilled's lead 0 - 2. Confident in their lead, Grilled's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Given a free kick close to the byline, Grilled tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let W. Shun An slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 3, 31 minutes into the game. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

W. Ross was, after 48 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper C. Maxim made the save. L. Aik Jia received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 51 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. The suddenness of the Deinos's A. bin Saad's pass to M. Jing after 55 minutes caught the opposition wrong-footed, and they could only watch as the ball sailed home for 1 - 4. After 56 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for L. Aik Jia who increased Grilled's lead to 1 - 5. Deinos's S. Allegrini cut towards the middle after 59 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 2 - 5. 68 minutes into the game, Grilled were awarded a penalty and W. Ping Shun was able to increase the visitors' lead to 2 - 6 rolling the ball in by the right post. The bench was restless, and with 70 minutes passed Deinos's coach gave J. Artigas the opportunity the player had been hoping for. S. Allegrini reluctantly left the field. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 57 percent of the ball.

Deinos's top performer was clearly M. Jing. B. Janse turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Grilled player was C. Ying Lee. However, H. Bakhtiar made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 6.
