The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave 凌. 福泉 (Fuquan) from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 32 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The home crowd was not impressed when Chow Ying Lee came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 36 minutes. Grilled were now up 0 - 4. A drive down the left side allowed Djan Bacelar to get in close and score another goal for Grilled after 37 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 5. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 5. Grilled had most of the ball, with 77 percent of possession.

Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let 梁. 力勇 (Liyong) replace 凌. 福泉 (Fuquan) after 46 minutes. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Wu Ho-pyong got himself booked. The manager of Corsairs was not happy. After 63 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Djan Bacelar to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 6. At that, Djan Bacelar was noted down for a hat trick! Confident in their lead, Grilled's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. After 64 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for 梁. 力勇 (Liyong) who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 7. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. Leong Wan Kang wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Gleb Dorogan after 70 minutes. Hilal Bakhtiar">Hilal Bakhtiar increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 8. With 84 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed Gleb Dorogan of Grilled to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 9. Rashid bin Ahmad wanted to play on, but the Grilled coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 85 minutes into the game by Walter Ross. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 81 percent of the ball.
