Rehomed At Halmstad
Fan Xiuyu will pull on the pink-and-black of Swedish club Halmstad AB with pride for the coming season, after he was assigned the Number Nine jersey of the Division Four club following his confirmed S$4.5 million transfer. Halmstad will be his fourth club in his eventful career after leaving Isle of Flames.
Fan, who will take over departed Icelander Bergsteinn Marrason as Halmstad's main striker, has made just sixteen competitive appearances for Grilled, scoring six. His steady improvement throughout was noted by observers, though, who marked him out for a productive future.
Grilled were yet again frustrated in their attempt to take a former youth player back, though, as 22 year-old Sri Jaafar bin Ramli accepted a S$4 million move to Portuguese Division Six side Águias Povoenses from Bilgeh, with CF Dementic (Czech Division Six), Julian SG (French Division Five) and FENERİZM 1907 (Turkish Division Five) all involved.
Han Lik-Tsun had earmarked some S$3.5 million for the midfielder, who can also play wide, which he confessed was already a generous outlay taking into account lingering sentiment. "I can't decide whether to be pleased that our guys keep going for over market rate after overseas stints." Han mused.
