heimu's Week By Week

Not to be outdone, heimu XI has released their recap of the top matches of the season thus far:

Week 1

heimu XI 2 - 3 Changi Genius

Touted the Battle of Pasir Ris between two newly promoted teams, Georgel Petricã starred in the show and scored a Hattrick in the first half! heimu XI tried in vain to fought back, but fell one goal short.

After this magnificent away victory, Changi Genius went from strength to strength and was singled out as one of the possible dark horses.

Week 2

newbies are newbies 3 - 1 Arrogancae

Perhaps one of the highlights of the season, newbies are newbies ousted giants Arrogancae, putting them temporarily on top of II.2.

Arrogancae in fact took the lead in this fixture, but who knows what roberto83 told his team - they equalized immediately and replaced youngster Yue Haoping with Mohd Hafizi bin Selamat, an experienced central midfielder. They then managed more possession and scored twice for a memorable victory.

Week 3

heimu XI 4 - 5 CharlesCheesePie

It was a game which Isle of Flames manager SkyFireX mentioned as a 1-in-50 upset by CCP. Indeed a bitter ending for heimu XI who dominated in almost every single department, except the central attack.

Giuseppe Bottino took the lead and raced CCP ahead early in the 2nd half, before Quirze Sans put the game beyond the home side in the 59th minute. This was the only win for CCP so far away from home.

Week 4

Changi Genius 3 - 4 newbies are newbies

This game marked the decline of Changi Genius in terms of their standing in the series table. It could have gone either way as Changi Genius's efforts in the first half were not enough to stall newbies' ferocious showing in the last ten minutes of the game.

The home fans might have claimed that their team were robbed on this occasion.

Week 5

seluraralc 2 - 2 Changi Genius

seluraralc could have won several close games, with especially poor showings in their away games. They lost both of theirs before Week Five, and two more games in the following weeks.

Credit to the home team who managed to fight back from two goals down. Another draw for Changi Genius resulted in them further slipping down the table.

Week 6

Brutus Dominion Spartacus Maxima Futbol Club 0 - 0 Arrogancae

freakzilla's tactical flexibility shocked series II.2 where the unfazed home side managed to keep Arrogancae at bay, restricting the away side to zero goals. Earlier in Week Five, BDSM had a famous victory over newbies are newbies with their counterattacking brand of play.

BDSM came alive in Week 5 and continued to rack up the points in Week Six, beginning their climb up the table.

Week 7

This is the first week where every single team in the series managed to get onto the scoresheet. Perhaps it was time for the teams to realize that their survival in the series was at stake, aside from the commitment to fare well in the Singapore Cup as a "unit".

While the league is on par with S-League with four teams remaining in the competition, the quality of the games in the series level have not dipped significantly.

Grilled Birds 2 - 2 Brutus Dominion Spartacus Maxima Futbol Club

This week sees our very own king of counter-attack getting yet another result away against last season's runners-up, and they look favorites to claim three points in the return fixture. The one point gained in this fixture saw BDSM rise to the fifth spot.

On the other hand, Grilled Birds must have felt that it was two points lost, especially after winning their first three home games.

Conclusion

Seven games have been played with seven more to go. Arrogancae are in pole position, but they have played four home games thus far. Will Arrogancae meet the expectations from the public and promote to S-League this season? Who will relegate from this fun filled series?
