The Arrogancae Review

League observers have noted with interest an analysis of the clubs in II.2 leaked by the current frontrunners, which has been reproduced below:

1. Arrogancae

It's mid season again, and Arrogancae has maintained pole position, this time 3 pts clear of 2nd placed Grilled Birds. The defending champion has made Avengers Apocalypse a fortress, having won all 4 home games setting a 14-2 (goal for/against) record. The team has lost only 1 game and drawn 1 thus far, conceding only a mere total of 5 goals reflects the defensive qualities of team to keep their formation compact and defense tight. With the 2nd highest wages at $925k/week, it is obvious that manager Ravary is looking to challenge for honours this season. Will the defending champion successfully defend the league title this season? Only time will tell.

2. Grilled Birds

This season's II.2 spots many veteran managers and bertbert is certainly one of them, and undoubtedly can also be regarded as one of the legends in the SG HT history. Grilled Birds is no stranger to top divisions challenges and it is not difficult to see the manager's well-polished skills and tactics in games. bertbert's team is versatile. Capable of playing dominance football as well as on the counter, the manager has built a well-mixed team of experienced players and young U20s strikers to lead the attack. Being the only other team that has not lost any home games, bertbert is certainly upping the ante compared to last season. Undoubtedly, they will be the biggest challenger to the title this season.

3. CharlesCheesePie

Making his 4th consecutive appearance in div 2, manager darkfossil is slowing gaining the experience to compete in higher division. And the position don't lie, they are currently sitting at 3rd spot and have proven themselves as a tough opponent despite only paying $538k weekly wages. This manager is known to pull out surprises against the bigger guns in the league with deceivingly strong performances and treating their famous cheesepies during halftime breaks. See Mee Lan Park is an intimidating place to visit, with only Arrogancae carving out a narrow 1 goal victory 3 weeks ago. With half of the season gone, we are almost certain this team will bake more cheesepies for their opponents as much as they play their game to their best.

4. newbies are newbies

Another veteran of II.2, manager roberto83 has played this game for 9 real life years! If this game had long service award, we're sure this team will be one of the few in SG to be bestowed with the award. On a serious note, newbies are newbies have always been in the top 4 in div 2 for many seasons, and one reason why this season hasn't as perfect as roberto83 would like, will be attributed to the lengthy injury to NT striker Roshadi. However, with Roshadi making his comeback today, it is certain that they will be looking to climb up the league table. With his vast experience and a capable assistant manger (girlfriend), we're sure newbies are newbies will pack a punch in the 2nd half of the season.

5. BDSMFC

Its the debut div 2 season for BDSMFC and credit to them, they have performed reasonably well in their maiden season. Manager freakazilla who is known for his strange practices to boost his players' performance, is also a bondage fanatic in real life. Having flown to the Netherlands last week, freakazilla is keen to take a mid season break in the red light district in Amsterdam. We would like to hear more reports & encounters from the manager personally when he returns, but by then we wonder where will BDSMFC lie in the table? With only 1 point clear of relegation zone, we fear that the manager has engaged into too much sadomasochism behaviour than his team can withstand.

6. Changi Genius

Another div 2 debutant makes his mark in II.2. Manager WONGCS though a new face to the div 2 arena, are no pushovers. Despite not doing very well in the league for the past few weeks, this team has excelled in the cup. Mr Wong has indicated that his team is only looking to survive in II.2, but we feel his team is more than capable of doing it. Currently sitting at 6th spot and only above the relegation zone by goal difference will surely not bode well with the manager's plans. But we'll be looking at this team putting up a very strong fight to avoid falling into relegation zone in the 2nd half of the season.

7. heimu XI

The 3rd of the veterans in II.2. Manager heimu has also played the game for 9 years and is no stranger to top division challenges. We certainly regard this team highly. With first of the season gone, one can say that it is almost unbelievable that heimu XI is sitting at 7th place. On a totally opposite note, this team seems to be flying high in the cup, and is looking set to be on their way to the quarterfinals this wednesday. Being the highest paid in II.2, there is no doubt quality runs in every department of the team. We are sure heimu XI will be mounting a strong comeback in the league in the 2nd half of the season.

8. seluraralc

A veteran of his own, manager tansy leads the history of II.2 with the most points gained and has played almost 120 matches in II.2. However, this season has been dismal for him. With only 5 points from 7 games played, seluraralc is in a dangerous position of relegation. There is certainly quality running in this team but competing on both fronts, the league and the cup seems to have taken a toll on tansy's team in the league. But this season has been very close and the fact that they only lie 3 pts away from the 5th spot goes to show how much can change within a single game. It might be half the season gone, but there is still plenty of time to rally their troops to avoid relegation. For sure, no one will be able to guess who stays up or down at this point in time.
