Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim was pleasantly surprised when he found out that he had been crowned Grilled's Player of the Season, with the panel of judges taking supporter sentiment into account in making their decision. "I must say that I never thought that I was even in the running." Mohd Safri said. "I do accept it gratefully, and it will encourage me to be even better."

Most would agree that the eighteen year-old Mohd Safri certainly deserved it, as he put together a very promising campaign, with some outstanding achievements; his call-up to the national youth side notwithstanding, Mohd Safri outshone both the illustrious Maikel Rotteveel and main targetman Domenik Bögengang to finish as Grilled's top scorer with 14 goals from 17 appearances, ahead of Rotteveel's twelve and Bögengang's eleven.

Twenty year-old Swede Martin Torsson took the Young Player of the Season award, after displaying consistent development, and bagging five goals to finish joint-fourth in the scoring stakes.
