LoMeu Lapping
Feng Forward
Spanish Division Eight side FC LoMeu handed the Birds a whipping at The Cooking Pot, as their black-and-grey swept over the green of the home side, if largely due to Grilled's midfield incompetence.
That might be partially forgiven as Grilled experimented with new positions for many of their players, with
Lim Shun Jin still finding his feet as a goalkeeper, and converted forwards and midfielders in defence.
This told as no-one picked up Polish veteran Damian Wódkiewicz when he strolled in from the left side, and when Mirchev belatedly approached, the winger had already popped a header into goal.
That was the signal for LoMeu to go for it, and within four minutes they were four goals up. Vidal, Goemans and Rosselló found out for themselves how porous Grilled's backline was, and how raw Lim's shot-stopping abilities were. Wódkiewicz would add another before half-time, with the biggest concern the visitors had being goalie Sergio Orquín's awkward fall after jumping for a pointless lob.
Vilches and Goemans then increased LoMeu's lead to seven goals, before
Feng Darong nipped in to poach a face-saver for the Birds. That was thanks mostly to substitite
Ângelo Cunha Simões, who will surely point to his incisive pass when requesting for increased playing time.
Darong's goal was a clear aberration, and LoMeu soon neutralised it as Dutch youngster Jack van Tuinen burnt Mirchev down the left. Goemans completed his hat-trick with a composed tap-in after Shun Jin spread himself far too much to the side, and Tuinen then supplied Pol Rosselló, who was perhaps the best player on the pitch.
Spanish winger Seguís Quevedo ended the rout as a glaringly demoralised Mirchev simply gave up, allowing Quevedo to advance unopposed down the left.
