Grilled made their move in the transfer market, dealing prodigal winger Fan Chuancheng to Spanish Division Eight side chelsea b for S$7.14 million, while taking in strong 17 year-old forward Ângelo Cunha Simões from Italian Division Ten side ap765vk for S$300 000.

Clearly, Fan's departure made the bigger headlines, with his leaving Grilled never in doubt after rising Slovenian club F.C. Comm put in an early bid of S$7 million. Fellow academy graduate Hu Jianyong will have to wait his turn, however, as there were no takers despite his price tag of some S$3 million less.

"I had hoped to make it big with Grilled, but it wasn't to be." a rueful Fan said at the press conference. "I will make the best of it, however, and look forward to be working with Xavier Unsworth for one."

Meanwhile, Portuguese lad Ângelo Cunha Simões signed in a rather lower-key ceremony, and in doing so became the fourth young striker Grilled have taken on in a few short months, not including the much-anticipated Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim.
