In one of their most anticipated acts in recent seasons, Grilled Birds officially promoted 17 year-old Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim from their Chicken Wings Youth Academy to the senior squad. "It's telling that he's likely the third best striker for Grilled already." Tham Beng Li, who scouted him, asserted.

Huge changes are afoot at the club, as they signalled their intention to let wingers Fan Chuancheng and Hu Jianyong leave. "Fan in particular is probably among the top few young wingers of his generation, while Jianyong has been very effective for Grilled, but we have a focus that unfortunately does not include them." coach Marcus Liehner said apologetically. "I'm sure that they'll find success wherever they go."

Grilled have other issues confronting them, key among them being BBrookies' S$15.5 million purchase of three very good midfielders in MacNayer, Kumar and Paşa, less than two weeks before the teams meet in a six-pointer that could well decide their stay in the division.
