Grilled dealt local 17 year-old midfielder Ng Pin Wei to Serangoon's Cyco C.F. for S$22000. Ng, who had hoped to follow in the footsteps of
Quah Han Kok, was not too displeased with the way things turned out.
"The coaches told me I had a good future as a pro, but not really national squad material at this point," Ng spoke. "Supposedly my stamina and heading ability puts me in good stead to compete."
Sentosa big boys FC Regenbogen and Division Four rOsEs RoVeRs were the other Singaporean clubs who gave Ng a look. Ng was approached by Tero Määttä (Finnish Division Nine) and FC De Buizerd (Dutch Division Ten) too, but decided to stay close to home.
