Aznan Noor Yadah's leg injury in Team Singapore's 3-0 defeat by the team that never was led to that match being his last one for Team Singapore, probably as the club needed a fit player for the crucial run-in. Aznan admitted that his departure was some time in coming, as a deal with ambitious Danish Division Six side Fudoshin was quickly arranged for S$1.5 million.
It was revealed that the 33 year-old could have returned to Grilled, a move that was aborted only after a tight vote by the board of directors, in consideration of his age and the general state of Grilled's finances. "The price was a little high for a guy with his best days behind him." a source close to the board said. "Furthermore, midfield remains one of Grilled's strongest departments. If Fudoshin hadn't come in so fast, however, I wouldn't have written a deal off outright."
