Yao Wai Meng, 19, finally put in a transfer request and was taken up by Israeli Division Seven club ddddd on a free transfer, to end a forgettable stint in Grilled's senior squad.
His troubles began with a lacklustre performance in Grilled's early Cup defeat, compounded by a falling out with some first-team members over the fiasco. The matter was settled internally, but Yao failed to feature in any of Grilled's friendlies throughout the season, which might have sent him a signal that he was not wanted by the club.
