Bluedragon 1 - 3 Grilled
e 31438 spectators at Great Bluedragon Stadium were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Ernst Õis was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Martin Andersson and
Dave Clemons. People from all over had joined up for the derby. Bluedragon had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Jeremy - Magnusson, Bokland, Geurden, Robertsson, Wennborn - Roux, Sugden, Farrington - Ciang-Sien, Manaf.
Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Harlow - Alcántara, Bona, Dewilde - Dai-Lin, Siu-Yue, Paullin, Kek-Tjiang, Noor Yadah - Langeland, Martinsson.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Bluedragon. Bluedragon was great at switching from defence to attack, and after 10 minutes,
Anthony Sugden swept through in the middle after such a counterattack, making the score 1 - 0. Grilled got a chance to level the score as
Luis Alcántara suddenly found himself free with only the 'keeper to beat, but the finishing shot hit the bar.
Shen Kek-Tjiang came close to levelling the score 41 minutes into the game, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post. The referee showed Grilled's
Au-Yong Siu-Yue the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The visitors almost came back with an equaliser 44 minutes into the match after a good combination down the middle, but when
Jan Langeland tried to finish the attack, he couldn't deliver the shot hard enough to seriously challenge the keeper. Bluedragon had to make a substitution after 45 minutes.
Frangky Manaf limped off the field and was replaced by
Qiu Kah-Wei. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 68 percent of possession.
Ola Martinsson made a run for the goal 56 minutes into the game but the home team's far left defence managed to sort the situation out in the end. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Bluedragon's
Thomas Bokland got himself booked. Bluedragon's
John Roux refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 73 minutes. In a rapid move 75 minutes into the match,
Aznan Noor Yadah of Grilled lost his man, passed the ball to the unmarked
Ola Martinsson who easily hit it home for the 1-1 goal. 78 minutes into the game,
Jan Langeland was a hair's breadth away from giving Grilled the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by
Jamie Jeremy saved the home team that time.
Johan Magnusson got left behind when Grilled's
Aznan Noor Yadah made a sudden pull forward after 79 minutes, finishing off with a swift strike. 1 - 2! Grilled increased the lead to 1 - 3 as
Ola Martinsson scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. The referee showed Grilled's
Ola Martinsson the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 66 percent of possession.
The most dominating Bluedragon player was without a doubt
Zeng Ciang-Sien.
Johan Magnusson was a disappointment, however. Grilled's best player was
Shen Kek-Tjiang.
Lorenz Paullin was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
