Grilled 10 - 0 UNITED

681 punters turned up at The Cooking Pot, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Thomas Nell was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Joram Beekman and Mirco Röhrmoos. The derby had been the talk of West all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Grilled started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Dias Paes - 辉洪 (Huihong) , Árva, Talib, Matthews - Penati, Branbilla, MacKinnon, 达荣 (Darong) - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for UNITED. Starters: bin Haniff - Lee Chao, Jing Hao, bin Mohamed, 聪博 (Congbo) - 恒南 (Hengnan), bin Moidony, bin Mustapa, Choon Woon - Kwang Feng, bin Abd Hamid.

Grilled broke through on the left 5 minutes into the game, with Maikel Rotteveel firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed UNITED's 唐 (Tang) 恒南 (Hengnan) a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 10 minutes into the game. Unfortunately for Grilled, John MacKinnon was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. Quah Han Kok replaced him. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's Maikel Rotteveel putting the lead up to 2 - 0. The score became 3 - 0 at 31 minutes into the game, when Grilled were given a penalty with which Maikel Rotteveel made no mistake. At that, Maikel Rotteveel was noted down for a hat trick. Maikel Rotteveel increased Grilled's lead to 4 - 0 with a penalty spot cannonball. At this point in the game, defending their lead became the main priority for Grilled. 35 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Maikel Rotteveel dashed through, knocking home 5 - 0 for Grilled. The teams went for the halftime break at 5 - 0. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 80 percent.

Grilled's Maikel Rotteveel struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 6 - 0 after 61 minutes. Cheers filled the stadium as Maikel Rotteveel broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the 7 - 0 goal for Grilled. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Subri bin Ku Zainol squirmed himself through their central defence after 72 minutes, bringing the lead to 8 - 0. With 84 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 9 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Quah Han Kok, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. The referee showed UNITED's Afandi bin Abd Hamid the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Matthias Branbilla's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for Grilled, he bravely continued in the match. After 88 minutes, Subri bin Ku Zainol put Grilled ahead 10 - 0 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. 89 minutes in, UNITED's Othman bin Mohamed received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 82 percent possession of the ball.

Valdir Dias Paes performed admirably for Grilled. On the other hand, Mark Matthews's play was disheartening. UNITED's top performer was clearly 唐 (Tang) 恒南 (Hengnan). Chia Jing Hao turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 10 - 0.
