Grilled 4 - 1 akodo
e 55812 fans in attendance at The Cooking Pot were roasting in the hot sun.
Werner Rainer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Gary Whitehouse and
Spasoje Cipot. Grilled decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. The following players had been chosen: Dias Paes - Ãrva, Lik-Tsun, Talib, bin Othman - Penati, Branbilla, MacKinnon, Han Kok, è¾¾è£ (Darong) - Rotteveel.
akodo tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination. The following players took the field: Deng-Geng - éå¹³ (Weiping) , Shiu ling, Sushanta, æ–°æ°¸ (Xinyong) - å®å¾· (Baode) , Choon-Heng, Kok hei - Jie Lai, Liang How, åŒç›› (Ruosheng).
It was an obvious ambition of Grilled to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for akodo on this day. With 3 minutes played
Ciro Penati almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. Grilled took the lead after 35 minutes, as a result of
Maikel Rotteveel's awkward, but ultimately successful, shot from the right. 1 - 0. A header from
秦 (Qin) 新永 (Xinyong) connected with a corner kick after 39 minutes, and the ball ended up with
é‚“ (Deng) å®å¾· (Baode) of akodo who shot home the 1-1 goal. The home side put themselves ahead 2 - 1 after 40 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
Ciro Penati, who, unaided, came in from the right wing hooking the ball over the visitors' keeper. akodo's
Li Choon-Heng was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 42 minutes. Grilled's
Matthias Branbilla swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, akodo's
滕 (Teng) éå¹³ (Weiping) got himself booked. 2 - 1 was the halftime score. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 58 percent possession of the ball.
Grilled managed to extend their lead to 3 - 1 when
Han Lik-Tsun cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
秦 (Qin) 新永 (Xinyong)'s lack of experience almost gave Grilled a goal after 66 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. Grilled put themselves up 4 - 1 when
Maikel Rotteveel broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. At this point in the game, defending their lead became the main priority for Grilled.
Matthias Branbilla of Grilled received a yellow card after 79 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Matthias Branbilla didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.
The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Quah Han Kok. On the other hand,
Zulkiflee bin Othman's play was disheartening. Most important akodo player was
é‚“ (Deng) å®å¾· (Baode) .
秦 (Qin) 新永 (Xinyong) turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 1.
