Grilled 3 - 1 Cyco

713 fans braved the pouring rain at The Cooking Pot. Draško Miljković was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Aubin Charles and Trisno Rauf. Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Starters: Dias Paes - Árva, Lik-Tsun, Talib - Penati, MacKinnon, Branbilla, Spirig, Han Kok - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.

Cyco decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Blachère - Banks, Tomé, Gunnarsson - Govaert, Coppens, Stress, Sawicki, Pacheco - Bizzarri, Keminen.

Cyco immediately set off using their skill at pressing their opponents. Maikel Rotteveel gave Grilled the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the keeper's right post. Mauro Bizzarri of Cyco received a yellow card after 19 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 23 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Subri bin Ku Zainol dashed through, knocking home 2 - 0 for Grilled. 24 minutes were showing on the scoreboard when Cyco's Mauro Bizzarri received his second yellow card and was sent off. Maikel Rotteveel did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch. With 38 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Zoltán Árva, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Confident in their lead, Grilled decided to play a more defensive game at this point. The home crowd just couldn't believe it when Maikel Rotteveel missed a penalty after 41 minutes of the match. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 66 percent possession of the ball.

With 59 minutes played, Zoltán Árva could have brought this one home for Grilled as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. It might be a while before the fans see Grilled's Dani Spirig again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 71 minute mark. He was replaced by Ivaylo Mirchev. Petri Keminen didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. Grilled's Zoltán Árva saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 78 minutes. The home side's Matthias Branbilla came close to extending the lead 79 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Valère Blachère managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. 82 minutes into the game, Petri Keminen had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Jorge Horacio Sarría. Valère Blachère was handed the Cyco captain's armband. Cyco were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 83 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to Fernán Tomé, who smashed it home to make the score 3 - 1. Cyco's Fernán Tomé was shown a yellow card after 89 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Grilled were forced to a substitution as Han Lik-Tsun couldn't continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing Weng Seng-Huat to come in from the sidelines. The Grilled captaincy was handed to Quah Han Kok. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

Most important Grilled player was Valdir Dias Paes. However, Weng Seng-Huat made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Cyco player was without a doubt Ben Coppens. On the other hand, Jimmie Banks's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 1.
