0027 spectators arrived at Herron Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Fernando Aizpurua was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Asier Mendoza and
Ulf Malmstad. Herron had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Mohd Nadzir - Agostinho, Askenbrant, Mitterer - Andronegui, Gabrielsson, Helgesen, Strandstrand, Malmner - Chit-Fu, Wai-Ming.
Grilled started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Harlow - Alcántara, Tuan-Mu, Dewilde - Dai-Lin, Noor Yadah, Stanton, Kek-Tjiang, Siu-Yue - Langeland, Martinsson.
Herron took the lead 23 minutes into the game by 1 to 0, as
Shu Chit-Fu elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. 32 minutes into the game Grilled's
Shen Kek-Tjiang found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. With 32 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 2 - 1 lead as
Gai Wai-Ming flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. Grilled had to make a substitution after 36 minutes.
Shen Kek-Tjiang limped off the field and was replaced by
Jon Andrea Rottman. 2 - 1 was the halftime score. Herron held the ball, with a clear 65 percent of possession.
With 48 minutes played, Herron put themselves up 3 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
Gai Wai-Ming, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased Herron's lead to 4 - 1 as
Gai Wai-Ming finished it off competently, firing from an acute angle. At that,
Gai Wai-Ming was noted down for a hat trick. Herron's
Daniel Gabrielsson had an excellent opportunity after 72 minutes, shooting on a through ball down the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! With 76 minutes played, Herron put themselves up 5 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
Daniel Gabrielsson, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. By now, Herron were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. After an industrious effort down the middle,
Håkan Strandstrand could have closed the game off after 79 minutes, but his finishing shot hit the post. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Herron, with an impressive 66 percent possession of the ball.
Herron's best player was
Abd Rauf Mohd Nadzir.
Stefan Malmner on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Grilled player was
Jan Langeland.
Lan Tuan-Mu was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 1.
