012 spectators had come to Stallions Park Arena this cloudy day.
Grigorios Yiataganis was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Adrian Iordan and
Heinrich-Detloff Fandl. All of
West was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby. Stallions started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Lineup: He in - bin Abu Samah, Xi qi, Yong Seng, bin Aziz - Wee Puay, Kian Kang, é强 (Weiqiang) , bin Ahmad - bin Jamaluddin, bin Che Mat.
Grilled tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Lineup: Dias Paes - Deme, Lik-Tsun, Ãrva, åºå³° (Tingfeng) - Penati, Branbilla, Han Kok, Chowdhury - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
The most controversial moment of the game was likely the penalty given after 14 minutes. Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel kept his concentration, despite the upset crowd, and calmly put the ball past the keeper to score the 0 - 1 goal for the visitors. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Stallions's
å…¬å™ (Gongsun) é强 (Weiqiang) got himself booked. Grilled's
Subri bin Ku Zainol received a play slashing through the home side's central defense after 30 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 2 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. A drive on the left side allowed Grilled's
Zoltán Ãrva to get in close and score a goal after 32 minutes, leading to 0 - 3. With 34 minutes played, Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked
Maikel Rotteveel for diving. After 36 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
Tapesh Chowdhury to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 4. The visitors'
Subri bin Ku Zainol took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 37 minutes into the match. 0 - 5 for Grilled. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. Halftime score was 0 - 5. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 82 percent of possession.
Some fine manoeuvring on the left led to a Grilled goal after 60 minutes, making it 0 - 6.
Subri bin Ku Zainol was noted down as the scorer. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for
Subri bin Ku Zainol. The game had been on for 62 minutes when
Zoltán Ãrva broke through on the right, upping the score for Grilled to 0 - 7, much to the home crowd's dismay. A well placed corner kick from
Mohd Zaidil bin Ahmad was followed by
Omar bin Abu Samah's hard but accurate header. The nice combination marked a goal for Stallions, the score now 1-7. Despite having a free kick in a decent position 86 minutes in, Grilled tried a variation that brought the ball through to the other end of the penalty area. However,
Matthias Branbilla did not manage to connect with it, as his team mates had hoped, and the ball went out. Grilled's
Zoltán Ãrva was shown a yellow card after 87 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A thrilling play through the middle 88 minutes into the match gave Grilled's
Han Lik-Tsun a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 8. Stallions's
Neo Wee Puay showed his experience after 88 minutes, as he expertly set himself up to take advantage of a rebound off the crossbar, but his shot was tipped harmlessly out of the way. A thrilling play through the middle 89 minutes into the match gave Grilled's
Subri bin Ku Zainol a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 9.
å…¬å™ (Gongsun) é强 (Weiqiang) remonstrated furiously with the referee after Stallions had another decision go against them. The referee had no alternative but to show him another yellow card and send him from the pitch. Grilled had to make a substitution after 90 minutes.
Han Lik-Tsun limped off the field and was replaced by
John MacKinnon. As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
Quah Han Kok took over the role of being the Grilled captain. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 88 percent.
Stallions's top performer was clearly
Mohd Zaharul Aiman bin Jamaluddin. However,
Omar bin Abu Samah made a disastrous appearance.
Quah Han Kok performed admirably for Grilled.
陶 (Tao) åºå³° (Tingfeng) was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 9.
