Terillions 2 - 4 Grilled

ercast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 50000 at Pioneer Stadium today. Dankward Kubik was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gerhard Landes and Dmitry Mezhenskiy. All of West was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby. Terillions started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Shi-Fang - Nielsen, Ping Dong, Kertész, Doğu - Ben Chakroun, Estiez, Le Duc, Condeminas - bin Rozi, Jacob.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. Starters: Dias Paes - Penati, Talib, Bona - Paullin, Han Kok, Spirig, MacKinnon, Chowdhury - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.

Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. 0 - 1 was the score with 11 minutes played, after Grilled's Tapesh Chowdhury cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal. Man, what a shot by Grilled's Maikel Rotteveel! Firing in from 35 yards after 15 minutes, that is probably going to be one of the finest, most beautiful, wonderfully crafted strikes the crowd here today are ever likely to see. 0 - 2. The home crowd were delighted when Che Harun bin Rozi scored with a header after an attack from the right, making the score 1 to 2. But did he use his hand? That'll be one for the pundits to talk about after the game, that's for sure! After 29 minutes, Che Harun bin Rozi got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. 34 minutes into the game, Aw Ping Dong came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. Ciro Penati of Grilled received a yellow card after 35 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. With 37 minutes played, Che Harun bin Rozi went down in a suspected penalty situation after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee, having a good line of sight, signalled to keep playing. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

The referee showed Terillions's Guy Estiez the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Unfortunately for Grilled, Lorenz Paullin was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. Peter Fjällbratt replaced him. The away team's Fabian Bona took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 68 minutes which increased Grilled's lead to 1 - 3. Terillions didn't give in and with 80 minutes played Dante Jacob was able to put the 2 - 3 goal away after a play on the right. Che Harun bin Rozi has acquired a talent for predicting the movements of the opposing defence over the years and this almost resulted in a goal 81 minutes into the match. Guy Estiez caused mayhem in his own defensive line with some mad dribbles within his own penalty zone, but Grilled's Tapesh Chowdhury's shot went just wide. After 84 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Quah Han Kok who increased Grilled's lead to 2 - 4. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

Terillions's top performer was clearly Cyril Le Duc. However, Kris Nielsen made a disastrous appearance. Most important Grilled player was Valdir Dias Paes. On the other hand, Ciro Penati's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 4.
