Grilled 6 - 0 Warrior

463 spectators had found their way to The Cooking Pot, despite the heavy rain. Niklas Ivarsson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jens Wehringer and Grant Eade. Grilled started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Dias Paes - Zywczyn, Lik-Tsun, Talib - van Liere, MacKinnon, Paullin, Han Kok, Spirig - bin Ku Zainol, Rotteveel.

Warrior tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: bin Zainal - Tian Chin, Shiu-Loong, Lien - bin Moidony, Yi-Ping, Ming-Foo, Habets, Knebelsberger - Kang-yin, Rosado.

It was obvious that Warrior were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. They were singing the praises of Subri bin Ku Zainol 6 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from just outside the centre part of the opponent's penalty area found its way over the visitors keeper to make the score 1 - 0 for Grilled. Warrior's talent at pressing frustrated their opponents. Quah Han Kok slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. After an industrious effort down the middle, Hidde van Liere could have closed the game off after 26 minutes, but his finishing shot hit the post. Grilled's Valdir Dias Paes refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 34 minutes. Bai Ming-Foo didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. Grilled's Subri bin Ku Zainol was delighted to score the 2 - 0 goal after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper and into the net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing after 38 minutes. At this point in the game, defending their lead became the main priority for Grilled. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 61 percent of possession.

Grilled put themselves up 3 - 0 when Dani Spirig broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. Grilled's Maikel Rotteveel demonstrated his experience by getting into a good position and being the first to react on a rebound off a savage shot that could only be parried by the opposing goalkeeper. His goal 64 minutes into the match made the score 4 - 0. Maikel Rotteveel's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 71 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a snappy through ball to Subri bin Ku Zainol who knocked it in for Grilled. 5-0! By then Subri bin Ku Zainol was a three time scorer - a hat trick! Grilled's Nawaz Talib placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but Han Lik-Tsun couldn't finish. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's Subri bin Ku Zainol putting the lead up to 6 - 0. Warrior's right side looked dangerous after 86 minutes, as Bai Ming-Foo broke through. Valdir Dias Paes continued to stifle them, however, as he made the save look easy. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.

Most important Grilled player was Lorenz Paullin. Sylweriusz Zywczyn was a disappointment, however. Warrior's best player was Bai Ming-Foo. Afandi bin Zainal on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 6 - 0.
