Razer 1 - 4 Grilled

662 punters turned up at Coliseum d'Hauts Esprits, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Edmundo Jardim was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Luca Sindelfingen and Kurt Aberli. A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Razer. Lineup: Jiao-Long - Feuchter, Yeng Yau, Wee-Hwa, Kitrattana, Patel - Mun-Nee, Tsu-Yee, Shen, Brandenberg - Payer.

Grilled started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Abed-Sulaiman - Zywczyn, Lik-Tsun, Talib - Spirig, Han Kok, MacKinnon, Paullin, Jie Siong - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.

Pressing was the tactic of the day for Razer. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Razer pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. Wang Wee-Hwa sailed high above the opponents as he headed the 1-0 goal in on a corner kick from Weng Shen after 31 minutes of play. 38 minutes into the game Grilled's Sylweriusz Zywczyn found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. Quah Han Kok really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by Han Lik-Tsun after a corner. Grilled had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 41 minutes in when Lorenz Paullin came up alone against Mak Jiao-Long who managed a block. 43 minutes into the match, Grilled nearly took the lead, as Han Lik-Tsun broke through on the right. Mak Jiao-Long made the save, however. After 44 minutes Grilled's Maikel Rotteveel contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. Sylweriusz Zywczyn gave the visitors the lead 45 minutes into the match to make it 1 - 2. The goal was scored from the penalty spot after a handball in the penalty area. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

Razer's Weng Shen got himself booked for a foul. The referee signalled a penalty 49 minutes into the game following an offence just inside of the box. Sylweriusz Zywczyn knocked home the 1 - 3 goal just outside the reach of the goalkeeper. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for Sylweriusz Zywczyn. Confident in their lead, Grilled decided to play a more defensive game at this point. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Grilled's Maikel Rotteveel got himself booked. Grilled came close to extending their lead as Maikel Rotteveel delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 62 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. Grilled's Quah Han Kok received a play slashing through the home side's central defense after 71 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 1 - 4 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.

Razer's best player was Mak Jiao-Long. However, Ong Yeng Yau made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's top performer was clearly Lorenz Paullin. Dani Spirig turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 4.
