Chemistry 1 - 1 Grilled
scorching day at The Acidic City, where 83352 spectators were in place for today's match.
Andreas Dürsch was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Dario Hochstettler and
Michał Bobola. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Chemistry. They fielded: Yang - Chang Chin, Broos, Kai-Xi - Caen-Khim, Bryant, Kum-Leong, Haafkens - Ladzim, Železnik, El Boubakri.
Grilled tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. The following players had been chosen: Abed-Sulaiman - Zywczyn, Lik-Tsun, Talib, Bona - van Liere, Kek-Tjiang, Han Kok, Spirig, Paullin - Rotteveel.
Chemistry used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. It was obvious that Grilled were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
Michael Bryant found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. 12 minutes in, Grilled's
Nawaz Talib received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The player down was
Remo Haafkens. The Chemistry bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 20 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Chemistry's
Mohamed El Boubakri to one side and produced a red card for the player. The pressing tactics used by Grilled were successful at containing their opponents. Chemistry's
Remo Haafkens was shown a yellow card after 27 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The Grilled player who had to be helped off the pitch, was
Dani Spirig as he was unable to finish the game.
Lee Jie Siong came in to finish the match. Halftime score was 0 - 0. This half belonged to Chemistry, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.
Grilled had a good opportunity to score the lead goal but the home team's goaltender
Eui-Tae Yang saved
Sylweriusz Zywczyn's shot that was headed for the top corner from the right. Chemistry's
Zong Kum-Leong was shown a yellow card after 48 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Lee Jie Siong was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so Grilled's
Luis Alcántara had to come off the bench.
Maikel Rotteveel came close to putting the visiting team one up 56 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but
Eui-Tae Yang managed to tip the ball to a corner. Grilled's
Hidde van Liere was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box -
Maikel Rotteveel managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 0 - 1 after 63 minutes. An uncontested handball in the penalty area gave the home team a penalty 80 minutes into the match, and
Martin Železnik was able to score to take the scoreline to 1 - 1. Chemistry claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.
Most important Chemistry player was
Eui-Tae Yang. However,
Noël Broos made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Han Lik-Tsun.
Luis Alcántara turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
