Bok To The Future
Tian Yonghang made only his second purchase of the season towards its end, as he secured Japanese goalkeeper
Dahan Bok for a transfer fee of S$408000 to Chilean V.189 side Trece 06 F.C., with the deal concluded today. Trece gaffer Viviano Yavar has been acquiring additions to his squad with an eye towards the upcoming qualifier against Star Blaze 4Utd, and he evidently thought Dahan surplus to requirements, with longtime Number One Illatarku Alessandri maintaining his starting role.
Regardless, Tian saw much potential in the 22 year-old, who had helped original club Sol Naciente F.C to an impressive four straight promotions in the Hattrick Anniversary League, before having to move with the shutdown of that competition. The Hokkaido native has since made eight appearances for Trece, including a drawn-out penalty shootout in a friendly test against Poland's GKS TAUZEN KATOWICE 1964, in which he saved Mykyta Kandaurov's effort - but still lost the shootout 7-8.
His consistent showings led to an early agreement with Spanish VII.586 club Panolis F.C., quickly followed by competing offers by Brasil Teufen (Swiss Division Six), Club Deportivo Ulpo Unido (Chilean Division Six) and FC Pápa (Hungarian Division Six). Dutch VI.803 hopefuls FC De Padde were reportedly his preferred destination, but the acquisition of Czech custodian Vilém Matěja from Paullecy FC made first-team status untenable, which led Dahan to opt for a reserve role at Grilled Birds.
"It's no secret that
Manuel Vadalà will be retiring soon, and with our other three goalkeepers all above thirty, Dahan will have all the time and mentorship he needs to develop." Tian explained. "We all have trust in him to grow into a useful member of the squad."
