Yip Transforms
Changing clubs - especially one's first go at it - could be considered one of life's milestones for most footballers, but Birds academy graduate Yip Eng Jie might have taken it a little far, upon his move to Israeli VI.103 club The-Chosen-One. Upon touching down in Jerusalem, Yip would reveal that he had changed his name to Uttamesh Song, with a new haircut and look to go along with it.
His Chicken Wings buddies admitted to being completely bemused at the sea change in Yip's appearance. "He was always your standard clean-cut and well-liked local chap, the sort you'd figure was marked for officer cadet school in National Service." Wings senior defender Raja Ameer Aswad said. "Personally, it's a bit early for a quarter-life crisis, but all the best to him."
Yip had an alternative offer from Spanish Division Six outfit VERIN CF, who eventually recruited Rancher Rabbits defender Low Hao Xin on a free instead. The fellow seventeen year-old reportedly felt homesick soon after arriving, unfortunately, and has retired from the game to focus on his university admission studies after discussion with his family.
