Beer & Bien
Two 17 year-old academy graduates set off on their professional careers today, with the Birds' Smaran Joshi taken by Israeli sixth division newcomers Beer Sheva City as part of their initial recruiting class. Tahiti IV.50 side Tubuai Spiders was the defender's other option, but Joshi would pick Sheva despite the regional instability, due to their coaching structure.
Joshi's Wings scout Lim Hock Puay described him as a ball-playing defender, who enjoyed spraying passes from the back - some of which were pretty spectacular. "They don't always come off, but to make things happen, you got to take risks. And Joshi has good odds on his side."
The Rancher Rabbits' Lim Eng Ah had his similarities with Joshi, but prefers operating on the wing, and carrying the ball up himself more. He would be recruited by three year-old Argentine VI.71 club Bien Fuerte, over an initial approach by Italian Division Eight outfit real montechiaro.
"He's really fun to watch." Bunnies assistant coach Fauzi Zahirul Haq offered. "And in the end, isn't that what's really important?"
