Banana 2 - 6 Grilled

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 25674 at The Sanctuary today. Angelo Toffan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Cyprien Risse and Arvo Toppelius. They fielded: Czachorowski - Eedema, Szakadáti, Eriksson - Văncică, Chacón, Zdravković, Conde - Mohd Zafir, Aik Beng, Imoberdorf.

The following players took the field: Seng - 中北 (Nakakita), Tarin - Ze Han, Muthyala, Xin Lee, Saliman, Romijn - Davlatov, Xin Seng, Parvathaneni.

Black Banana FC entered the field in a 3-4-3 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. Underestimation of the opposition made Grilled players perform way below their normal capacity. Banana were mostly trying to use their solid skill at attacking on the flanks. The terraces were silenced after 9 minutes when Grilled's Florus Romijn put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. With 18 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Moey Xin Seng. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Moey Xin Seng got himself booked. The manager of Grilled was not happy. A well placed corner kick from Jérémy Tarin was followed by Moey Xin Seng's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Grilled, the score now 0 - 3. Chu Xin Lee was, after 33 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Krzysztof Czachorowski made the save. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

Banana's Khairul Hakim Mohd Zafir got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 1 - 3. At 55 minutes into the game, Banana's Apoena Conde deftly knocked the ball home after an impressive run down the left, reducing the visitors' lead to 2 - 3. Grilled increased their lead after 56 minutes when 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) broke through on the right, upping the score to 2 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay. 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 59 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 2 - 5. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. 68 minutes into the match Grilled's 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. Florus Romijn's speed was clear to see after 69 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released Islom Davlatov who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 2 - 6. Neeraj Muthyala came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over Krzysztof Czachorowski but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. 71 minutes in, Banana's Jérôme Imoberdorf received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. Chan Ze Han wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for José Luiz Velho after 89 minutes. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 89 minutes, Hoàng Trung Quá came on for Jérémy Tarin. As Jérémy Tarin left the field, the coach signaled to Neeraj Muthyala to be the new set pieces taker. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 3 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 2 - 6. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

Banana's best player was Li Aik Beng. However, Apoena Conde made a disastrous appearance. Most important Grilled player was Kalki Parvathaneni. Dan Seng turned in a dismal performance, however.
