The undisputed star turn of -Blitz-'s short-lived youth team, which closed immediately after his departure, Wong Ting Yew also shattered their outgoing transfer record for a homegrown player by fetching nearly S$2 million from the Bunnies.

Always earmarked as a future regular, Wong's future was further burnished when he was named to the national U-20 squad alongside Lau Chang Wan, and must be one to watch in upcoming seasons. He would go on to earn his first senior national cap at 22 years of age, in a 5-1 win over Peru.
