Timid Tigrillos
Bukhari Bash
El Salvador Division Two dlub C.D. Tigrillos de Occidente fell tamely to Grilled, as
Bukhari Abd Hamid showed his good side and bad, with an energetic outing and a goal marred by bad fouls and eventual dismissal.
The home team only managed to scrap up nine men for the friendly, but Grilled were not about to take it easy on them. Bukhari in particular snapped at every ball that came remotely near him, and he richly deserved his 13th minute goal.
The other Grilled man to shine was
Nor Suhaimi bin Che Lah, who was given free reign to bomb forward. He showed his quick feet in the 23rd minute as he wriggled past Banderas and shot successfully at goal, even before the Tigrillos defence had figured out who to send at him.
Qiu would make it three no thanks to Pater's poor handling, and Bukhari's darker face came to the fore as he prevented a free-kick from being taken, earning himself a yellow. Nor Suhaimi steered clear of such antics, and collected his second goal after a pinpoint pass from Seng-kar down the left.
Tigrillos abandoned all pretence of attack after the break, and Hjortlind had to toil to get his name on the scoresheet in the 59th minute, after a scrappy tangle in the area. Bukhari nearly got another in the 72nd minute, but screamed in disappointment after Pater pushed his volley over for a corner kick.
Bukhari was headed for a sending-off after several less-than-clean tackles, and finally forced the referee's hand by getting right into his face after his clearly offside goal was denied by the linesman.
Grilled functioned okay even with ten men, and Nor Suhaimi had time to complete his hat-trick off Jie Siong's cushioned header, before Hobson had his attempt batted away by an overworked Pater.
