Chen Returns
The Grilled team arrived to a very warm reception at StrongMan in Poland, but were kicked about on the field, the only bright spot being Chiew-Yen's shot from afar. Grilled dropped Siu-Cheung, Alcántara and Hobson from the team that got beaten 0-5 in Greece last week, while Seng-Huat got to keep his rightback position, and played quite well this time round. Both sides concentrated on getting through in the middle, making for a lot of direct plays. StrongMan's striker Tadeusz Rosowski slid into Grilled's Thai defender
Nui Pakpao at great velocity in the tenth minute, putting him out of commission for a couple of weeks, a definite worry for Grilled with matches against Neo Toxicants and FC GBR upcoming. bin Che Lah came in for him, and promptly gave away a penalty. Tomek Sobkowski misdirected
Cheung Huel-sheng neatly to put StrongMan in the lead. Sweeper Artur Malek got a yellow for a challenge on Kolesov, and Huel-sheng did well to save midfielder Tadeusz Strzelcki's long shot. Tomasz Junger did a good backheader on a corner, but Walenty Krolikowski powered it onto the bar. Grilled retired to the sidelines just a goal down.
Chen Chiew-Yen, who had a quiet first half, began the second with a bang as he scored in style from far, far away. When StrongMan's sweeper was sent off soon after, it should have given Grilled the signal to press forward, but the Polish side were the one to throw caution to the wind and were rewarded when Krolikowski put them ahead again from a diagonal lob. Winger Jan Rykowski felt he had been cheated when Tuan-Mu hauled him down and the referee instead booked him for diving. He was vindicated soon after, when Rosowski ended a masterful passing combination with a through pass to him. No defender was close this time, and Krolikowski set his sights right to score.
