Boca Ouyang
Aspirant Ouyang Peng-Sang, 17, no relation of former Grilled coach Ouyang Shung-Tat, will begin his career in Barcelona, Spain after Boca Juniors F C overcame Show de Bola of Brazil and Holy DF of Geylang, Singapore in the bidding, paying $14000 at the end. Ouyang, who has played at both inner midfielder and striker, would have been a clincher for further grooming by Grilled Birds had he been discovered two seasons ago. "Standards have risen to such an extent that we regret we have no room to squeeze him into the bloated senior squad. Our primary aim has always been the development of prime local talent, but the requirement to stay competitive in Division Two has taken precedence to a certain extent.", one of the longer-serving youth coaches commented.
Ouyang will hardly be estranged in Spain, with fellow Singaporeans Yang Ka-Fai, Peng Wai-Can and Khu Kok-Hao bound on the same flight out to join Boca. Ouyang recognises that he may not make the cut at Boca, but feels that there will be openings galore out there. As the adventurous teenager was often heard to say, "The world is my pitch."
