Caved In
Gershon Gimme
Israeli hosts the cavs were put to bed by Grilled's
energetic running at their GUND ARENA, even though they
took the lead through Itay Gershon after Aussie forward
Kenneth Chapman pulled away from the defence in the
tenth minute.
Aznan Noor Yadah took that as a challenge, and his long
strides were equally effective in piercing the cavs'
backline, straight from the kick-off. That left Aznan's
abilities firmly etched onto the minds of the cav
defenders, to their dismay as none of them thought to
cover
Chen Chiew-Yen, who shrugged and knocked a cross
from Magunsson in a little later on.
It was then
Tim Hobson's turn to shine, and the Englishman made up for his lack of pace by moving at the right moments to get a brace in the space of four minutes. Rafi Berkovich was booked in between those goals, as he hauled Magnusson down before the ball even reached the Swede.
It was only when the second half began that the Birds realised that their opponents had started the match with just ten men, but this didn't put a dent in their convictions, and
Chen Chiew-Yen got the scoreline to 5-1 as cavs custodian Oliver Franco dropped his attempt.
Tim Hobson passed up his shot at a hat-trick, and
Chai Yew-Hoe nearly panicked and caused an open goal, before
Li Ze ended the affair with a bicycle kick at point-blank range.
