Latvian club Team + were sunk by a
Miguel Reed hat-trick, as a winner's medal appears to have put the American forward in an especially creative mood. This was further boosted by the coach assigning him to take the penalties, from which he got two goals by the 23rd minute.
Asher Stanton scored with a beautiful mid-air kick between Reed's goals, and Team + encountered other problems of their own as forward Sergejs Zins collapsed in the 22nd minute, as they had prepared no substitutes to call upon.
The young
Peter Magnusson was suffering the effects of a long season and vomited soon after, leading to him being replaced by
Bert Persson. The match continued flowing, and Team +'s Janis Pikols hung his head after he bent a free-kick just wide.
Weng Seng-Huat then only had to tap the ball in after
Ricard Machado did all the work down the left, and Machado was unfortunate not to get his reward a bit later, as his grounder was stopped by a defender on the line. Yew-Hoe would end the half on a yellow, as he pounced onto Augusts Kundrats needlessly.
Lan Tuan-Mu kicked off the second half with a sweet volleyed goal, and Reed finished off his hat-trick as an overworked Team + began fouling left, right and centre, with Haldejevs and Slesarcuks booked. They would eventually lose Didzis Bradins through injury, but that made no impression on the result.
