Diddled By Indianers
No Lau Lull
Luxembourg Third Division side Indianer Diddeleng cruised to an 8-0 wipeout of the Birds, who did have good training in ball-chasing as they continued to get used to the 4-3-3 formation.
Grilled maintained their policy of lumping three of their young strikers in attack and telling them to stay up, but none of them had so much as touched the ball when the home team got the lead. Danish forward Lau Clifford inched ahead of a discomfitured
Ivaylo Mirchev to prod it in.
Although Lihai in particular made it a point to make his runs dutifully, most of the action was in and around the Grilled penalty area, with
Fu Jun Chang finally losing his patience and grabbing the shirt of an opponent far too openly. Penalty to Diddeleng, which was tidily slotted in by Thomas Roubin.
Corrado Arenile made it three with a direct run, with
Chan Woon Jin booked after the goal for putting out a potentially crippling tackle that Arenile did well to avoid. Lau Clifford scored again a minute later, with the Grilled central defender seemingly afraid to even approach him out of fear of getting dismissed.
The obligatory switch of Lihai for Simões happened on 60 minutes, and the Taiwanese forward's departure was quickly felt as the hosts were relieved of the pressure he had been exerting. Odd Andresen soon scored from a free header off a corner, and Clifford got his hat-trick, after a cute trick got him through the Grilled defence.
Local youngster Eugène Biewesch got called for a soft foul, but forgot it after scoring from close range after Bao-Tam deflected an effort from Leif With. Daniel Hoffmann then wrapped it all up with some intelligent dribbling in the 76th minute.
