Bilal Reminder

Day Two of the Supporter Week Trophy had the Birds go positive with two wins out of three, starting with Czech Division Five representatives FC TARANTINO. This had Grilled Birds rampage to a clear lead of four goals, helped by Kalki Parvathaneni's can-do spirit leading to his chipped opener in just the third minute. Dino Calabrò and player-coach Fabien Gendron rallied the troops after Enrique Baena hit a repeat in the 74th minute, but that gave them but a 2-4 loss to take home.

Mozambique III.1 champions Indipendiente Tiger then endured the full force of an unleashed Bilal Mohammad Harun, with the 36 year-old midfielder smashing through a hat-trick by the 33rd minute, albeit aided by Indonesian keeper Prakoso Sugianto spilling an easy corner take for the third. Prokop Mottl came up with a flashy second-half brace, as then did Indipendiente's Albertino Mateus, for a 7-3 Birds.

Danish V.175 club FC Jordrup then stopped Grilled's streak, if with Bilal bashing through for a stiff grounder in the seventeenth minute, only for Tyrone Meredith, Dariusz Pojasek and Klaus Heim to come good for the Danes. Moey Xin Seng got one back from Paulino Trindade's assist seven minutes from the end, but could not avoid a 2-3 loss. This had the Birds up to 12801st with a 3-1-3 record, and 25 goals both for and against.

Farmer Bunnies split the day's matches, but began on a high note with a 2-1 win over Swiss fifth divisioners Towerboys. Richard Agyei and Vitaliy Efendiev continued their recent roll, as they clawed back a shock second minute surprise from Colombian striker Tobías Montealegre. Noël Diouf seemed offside as he hung off Jerad Meyer, but replays confirmed that the canny Senegalese veteran had timed his step-back flawlessly.

The orange-shirted Swedish III.40 Norrtelje Wanderers, former proud Smaragdcupen holders, would then upend the Buns 4-2, despite a great effort by Mushtag Al-Nameeri to equalize in the first half, and Xue Kangfang's defiance towards the end. Alexander Stållund drove Wanderers effectively from midfield, moreover copping their decisive third goal in the 79th minute, from a magnificent twenty-yarder.

Italian VI.957 side DeadDogF.C. then held the Buns to a one-all draw, with Stefan Arsenijević and Lim Su Liang scoring within two minutes of each other, towards the end of the first half. A couple of promising counters wouldn't come off for Farmer Bunnies afterwards, which left them in 8592nd place, on a 3-3-1.

Grilled International in contrast exceeded their fans' expectations, as they ended the day as high as 1742nd, which would mean their best-ever showing in the tournament, if they manage to hold on. That involved first a 7-0 cleanout of German VI.31 club FC Rimburg, who offered little enough resistance against a Li Xin Chi-led attack. Seven were also forthcoming against H.A.L. Division Six hopefuls Condenados Clube de Portugal, except that Fernando Novais came up with a consolation, for a 7-1 final result.

Another German side in V.91's FC Union Ball would then hold International to a 4-4, and that only due to a late comeback, after Hardi bin Besar had contributed two in the first half. The Number Seventeen felt that his team had been careless in allowing their opponents to counter twice, and quite unnecessarily at that. "We let them back in it, there's no other way to see it."
