Goo Den Friendly
Weng's Taste
Grilled led all the way at Israeli Division Three goolies but never had an easy time with the hosts knocking three past
Frank Öhmo with a dangerous 3-4-3 formation. The difference was that Grilled had five goals of their own.
The first chance of the game fell early to goolie's formidable young forward Rãzvan Nicolae, just eighteen years of age but already the subject of a S$766 000 transfer fee from original club pirisoara.
Weng Seng-Huat was of no help at all that time as Nicolae broke away, though Öhmo wasn't made to sweat with the ball struck right to him.
Seng-Huat kept abandoning his post, but to his credit he arrived promptly at the end of a Grilled attack in the 24th minute to lash the first goal in. Four minutes later,
Lan Tuan-Mu made it two for the defence as he came from deep to score with a lucky shot from the left edge of the box. If goolies' home crowd were subdued by that, they made their delight heard when Jakob Torling went right through the lethargic Alcántara to pull one back.
The goals were coming thick and fast by now, and
Asher Stanton left his mark on the game with a reckless dribble that split the goolies defence. Jeff Gold was adamant that Stanton bumped him out of place, but the goal stood. The referee was following the action closely when
Lan Tuan-Mu engaged in some hanky-panky with Nicolae on a spirited goolies raid right after the third goal, and rightly cautioned the veteran defender.
goolies came out on all cylinders in the second half, and Eddy Marlow's floated cross into an overpopulated Grilled penalty area landed at German winger Vladimir Markoski's feet at a range of twelve feet. Markoski's shot was diverted by Tuan-Mu to the wrong side of a diving Öhmo.
New signing
Jon Andrea Rottman, who was on his debut, then distinguished himself by barrelling home the fourth Grilled goal in a total mess of players. goolies were not done yet, and Eddie Marlow raised hopes of a comeback when his solo effort down the left wing sent Öhmo grasping at thin air, but
Chen Chiew-Yen deflated them as he responded with a simple striker's goal seconds later.
