Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For Grenada Packers, the formation of choice was 4-5-1. Grilled displayed their world class (13) ability to play creatively. Grenada were relying on their excellent (8) ability to counter-attack. 31 minutes in, Grenada's
Hyron Ferdinand received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A foul after 33 minutes resulted in a free kick.
Radovan Jaška cannonballed it, giving the home team the lead 1 - 0.
Evandro La Face could have increased the lead after 34 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Grilled solidified their lead at the 38 minute mark, as
Orest Tokarz dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0.
Orest Tokarz unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. Grenada's
Emil Bujala got himself booked for a foul. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Grilled had most of the ball, with 68 percent of possession.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grenada substitution.
Lloyd Ferdinand came on for
Sylvester Alexis. Grilled's
Evandro La Face saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 62 minutes. With 65 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by Grilled's
Paulino Trindade reached
Evandro La Face's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 3 - 0. After 66 minutes, the Grenada coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Mario Demontis off the field.
Alton Findlay took his place. After 69 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
Orest Tokarz gave the Grilled supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 0. 70 minutes into the game, Grenada wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Stig Værholm gave
Clinton Warner a quick hug as he left the field. As the 70 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Mohsen El Khateeb reluctantly made way for
Teo Chuan Yong on the pitch.
Radovan Jaška should probably have put his team up another goal after 81 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by
Lyndon Barrett kept the visitors in the game.
Lloyd Ferdinand stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Grenada the goal to make it 4 - 1. Grenada's
Sherwin Blackman excelled in some fine tricks that completely confused
Lim An Keng - and the finish was no less spectacular - 4 - 2! 84 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Gandhik Chitre broke through, making the score 5 - 2 for Grilled.
Hwang Teck Fu could have put Grilled up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 86 minutes.
Gandhik Chitre would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Bilal Mohammad Harun entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Federico Parada gave
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) a quick hug as he left the field.
Bilal Mohammad Harun was handed the Grilled captain's armband. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 2 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 5 - 2. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Aw Keng Chuan. However,
Radovan Jaška made a disastrous appearance. Most important Grenada player was
Ove Häggin.
Lyndon Barrett was a disappointment, however.
