Vasas fielded a 4-4-2 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. Vasas clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their brilliant (11) level with that tactic. Grilled demonstrated their world class (13) creative tactics on the field.
Igor Kochugov went down after twisting his right ankle in minute 3, but was able to continue the match none the less. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Grilled's
Gandhik Chitre after 7 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead.
Gandhik Chitre was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Grilled's
Lim An Keng managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 0 - 2
Evandro La Face of Grilled took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 32 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 3. With 38 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
Gandhik Chitre. After 39 minutes of game time,
Federico Parada had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
Gergő Várhidi was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. Vasas had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 40 minutes, but
Igor Kochugov's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 71 percent of the time.
46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Mohsen El Khateeb gave
Bhavya Panigrahi a quick hug as he left the field. The referee showed Vasas's
Benedek Nemere the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Grilled increased their lead after 72 minutes when
Gandhik Chitre broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 5, much to the home crowd's dismay. This third goal completed a hattrick for
Gandhik Chitre.
Gandhik Chitre was, after 75 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
Gergő Várhidi made the save.
Lim An Keng rose like a salmon, and was very close to scoring with a header after a corner, but sent the ball just over the bar. After the ball was lifted in from the left,
Lim An Keng was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 80 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
Ibnou Balde could have put his team up another goal 85 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Gandhik Chitre reluctantly made way for
Chan Ze Han on the pitch. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Federico Parada off the field.
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) took his place.
Chan Ze Han was the new captain of Grilled - handed the armband by the departing player. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. Grilled's
Ibnou Balde made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 90 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. The counterattacks of Vasas were deadly and 91 minutes into the game,
Victor Inhaíba received a nice pass from the right flank, making it 1 - 5. Grilled's
Bhavya Panigrahi got himself booked for a foul. The match ends 1 - 5. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 72 percent.
Most important Vasas player was
Xandro Zandvliet.
Viktor Róza was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Aw Keng Chuan.
Bhavya Panigrahi turned in a dismal performance, however.
