It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 3-4-3. After 4 minutes,
Bilal Mohammad Harun came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Grilled the lead. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Grilled scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
Atang Mangoye after 13 minutes. 23 minutes into the game, Viachers seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a solid (7) level of organisation. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Teo Chuan Yong increasing the lead to 3 - 0. 42 minutes in, Viachers's
Miroslav Tvrdk received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 43 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Egemen Diner Ferzan broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for Grilled. Grilled put themselves up 5 - 0 when
Bilal Mohammad Harun broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. With 44 minutes played,
Enrique Baena of Grilled fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Grilled's
Bilal Mohammad Harun swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. 5 - 0 was the halftime score. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 81 percent of possession.
During the break, Viachers's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid (7) organisation. As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Gilbert Webb reluctantly made way for
Mohsen El Khateeb on the pitch. 46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Hwang Teck Fu gave
Aw Keng Chuan a quick hug as he left the field.
Mohsen El Khateeb could have increased the lead after 59 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. With 65 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 6 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
Egemen Diner Ferzan, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Viachers's
Fabian Ugarte got himself booked for a foul. It emerged that
Greivin Ramos had hurt his right foot after 74 minutes, which led him to abandon the game. This gave
Wilfredo Campollo a chance to take to the field instead.
Teo Chuan Yong would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Moey Xin Seng entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 75 minutes.
Teo Chuan Yong was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that
Bilal Mohammad Harun got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills.
Enrique Baena could have put Grilled up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 79 minutes. Cheers filled the stadium as
Aw Keng Chuan broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 7 - 0 to Grilled. After 81 minutes,
Arnoldo Cabeza suffered a slight injury to his left calf muscle. However, it was not enough to stop him from continuing the game. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 4 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 7 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 83 percent of the time.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Aw Keng Chuan.
Cameron Law was a disappointment, however.
Fabian Ugarte performed admirably for Viachers.
Tadeo Franceschi on the other hand, had a terrible day.
