Grilled International trainee defender Mei Guanyu left for Italian VIII.231 club FC Olympique Meraviglia on a free transfer today, as one of the first two signings of Latvian head coach Jūris Bērziņš. The former FC Sension veteran had already recruited Giler Vanginderdeuren from Belgium's Corgi United, and expressed confidence in building a productive partnership between the pair.
The 17 year-old Mei had been out of the defensive standouts for his Busy Bees team, where his natural positional instincts, coupled with some very respectable pace, made it a hassle for opposing forwards to bust past him. "All he needs for now is more bite in the tackle." proud scout Adinath Pant stated. "That's the only flaw he has, being too calm sometimes!"
