Arun Ponnusamy was headed there anyway. Days after eligibility, the 17 year-old would be handed the Number 24 shirt by head coach
Dalibor Kostadinović, who now has no less than nine academy boys under the age of twenty, making up his new generation of defenders.
Arun, then, would fit in only too easily. "It's basically the same dressing room as at the Rabbits." he noted. "Well, there are a few more boomer uncles around... wait, don't tell them I say that!"
Joking about aside, Ponnusamy has a well-earned reputation for being one of the most-accomplished defensive midfielders that the Rabbits had produced. Naturally adept at moving the ball out of defence and tying up loose ends, he moreover packs a wicked right foot, which has seen him drain his fair share of free-kicks for the team.
Amaya Ravula, who was perhaps closest to Ponnusamy in the youth squad - and a possible inspiration behind his jersey number choice, it being the reverse of his 42 - declared himself eager to renew their partnership a level up. "I never doubted that he would make it too. Time to go places together!"
