Grilled 2 - 1 Int.balkan

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 3179 to The Cooking Pot. Jonathan Polledri was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Kuzey Örnek and Josue Menéses. Grilled fielded: Vadalà - Mangoye, Hutter - Teck Fu, Kwang Tse, Chitre, Khairul, Baena - Jian Hui, Xin Seng, Mottl.

Int.balkan's starters: Ayaz - Leancă, Vayá, Jokanović - Adey, McAvoy, Epicoco, Woldseth, Dinarelli - Tulum, Flaskár.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while Inter Balkan FC has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup. Int.balkan seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their brilliant (11) level with that tactic. With 12 minutes played Moey Xin Seng almost gave the home side the lead with an unexpected free kick set up, but the visitors' Moazzam Ayaz was onto it, grabbing the would be breakthrough ball. Some great play up the middle by Grilled led to a chance for Chia Kwang Tse to score after 18 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Many thought Damian Hutter ought to have been awarded a penalty 22 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around Moazzam Ayaz after a determined run through the middle. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 60 percent of the ball.

As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Chia Kwang Tse reluctantly made way for Chad Thach on the pitch. The Grilled coach adjusted their lineup with 46 minutes gone. Hwang Teck Fu and Mohd Marzuki Khairul assumed each other's positions. After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Prokop Mottl off the field. José Luiz Velho took his place. They were singing the praises of Moey Xin Seng 56 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Grilled. After 59 minutes, Int.balkan were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise. Ákos Flaskár did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. With 61 minutes played, Felipe Vayá of Int.balkan fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Bogdan Jokanović of Int.balkan was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Grilled increased the lead as Moey Xin Seng struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Moey Xin Seng would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Teo Chuan Yong entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 80 minutes. As Moey Xin Seng left the field, the coach signaled to Teo Chuan Yong to be the new set pieces taker. Teo Chuan Yong was handed the Grilled captain's armband. Int.balkan were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. The home team's fans were upset when, after 82 minutes, the visiting Giampietro Dinarelli broke through the central defence and kicked the ball past the keeper. 2 - 1 was the score. The match ends 2 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

Most important Grilled player was Teo Chuan Yong. Atang Mangoye was a disappointment, however. Hristu Leancă performed admirably for Int.balkan. On the other hand, Merv McAvoy's play was disheartening.
