Testigos 0 - 1 Grilled

A scorching day at Testigos del Maestro Arena, where 3128 spectators were in place for today's match. Olgierd Chudyk was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Silvano Sattori and Dimitri Tahon. The intense heat made it hard for players relying on strength or speed to shine. On the other hand, it provided perfect conditions for the more technical players. Testigos's starters: Damek - Casais, Gregoret, Muñiz, Veltri - Ciscar, Chiaverano, Babington, Llorente, Fritzler - Tamone.

The following players took the field for Grilled: Law - Jaška, Keng Chuan - Teck Fu, Thach, Chitre, Khairul, Ferzan - Jian Hui, Chuan Yong, 田宮 (Tamiya).

Testigos del Maestro fielded a 4-5-1 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Radovan Jaška from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 3 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A slight injury to his right calf muscle meant Edgardo Maximiliano Llorente had to leave the match early. It happened after 3 minutes. Isidro Bravo had already been warming up, and came on for Edgardo Maximiliano Llorente. 4 minutes into the game, Gandhik Chitre was a hair's breadth away from giving Grilled the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by Marek Damek saved the home team that time. Testigos's Giuseppe Tamone got himself booked for a foul. Having taken a hard knock between his legs, Carlos Ramón Babington limped off the pitch in a reduced state of dignity. He could not continue, with 17 minutes on the clock, could this prove costly for his team? The replacement for the injured player was Juan Pablo Defferrari. Hwang Teck Fu had a good try after 25 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.

46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Chad Thach gave Chia Kwang Tse a quick hug as he left the field. Hwang Teck Fu got new instructions from the Grilled coach after 46 minutes. He changed positions with Mohd Marzuki Khairul soon after. Testigos's Giuseppe Tamone tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. 51 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but Chia Kwang Tse, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. 58 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Testigos to take the lead after a good cross from the right found Antonio Fritzler alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when 冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against Marek Damek, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. As the 70 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Teo Chuan Yong reluctantly made way for Lim An Keng on the pitch. As Teo Chuan Yong exited the field, Radovan Jaška volunteered to be the new set pieces taker. Radovan Jaška was the new captain of Grilled - handed the armband by the departing player. After 75 minutes, the Testigos coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Giuseppe Tamone off the field. Lenos Kefalaris took his place. With Giuseppe Tamone no longer on the pitch, Lenos Kefalaris took over free kick duty. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Atang Mangoye came on for 冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya). It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! Still tied after 91 minutes, the match continued into extra time. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.

Marek Damek looked great 94 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors' Gandhik Chitre. Radovan Jaška gave the visitors the lead 106 minutes into the match to make it 0 - 1. The goal was scored from the penalty spot after a handball in the penalty area. 111 minutes into the match, Yee Jian Hui came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. The match ends 0 - 1. The most dominating Testigos player was without a doubt Lenos Kefalaris. Martín Ignacio Muñiz was a disappointment, however. Grilled's best player was Lim An Keng. On the other hand, Atang Mangoye's play was disheartening.
