Grilled 3 - 1 Bunnies

Weather conditions were fairly good for football at the stadium today. They fielded: Germanakos - Panigrahi, Webb - Baena, Mohammad Harun, Keng Chuan, Parvathaneni, Trindade - Ze Han, Xin Seng, Chitre.

Starters: Sorondo - Su Liang, Liu, Li Jing, Patel, Zaripbekov - Meyer, Raulj, Camperio, 康方 (Kangfang) - Efendiev.

Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For Farmer Bunnies, the formation of choice was a 5-4-1. Grilled used their mythical (17) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the field. A titanic (15) level of counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Bunnies. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, and they were successfully passing the ball from the wing into the middle at the behest of their coach. Some great play up the middle by Grilled led to a chance for Moey Xin Seng to get the go-ahead goal with 3 minutes played, but the shot hit the crossbar. Many thought Gandhik Chitre ought to have been awarded a penalty 21 minutes into the match, as he went down trying to beat Gilberto Sorondo after an attack through the middle gave him the one-on-one opportunity. Kalki Parvathaneni of Grilled was able to make an impressive run past the sluggish Demitri Liu, which resulted in the 1 - 0 goal. Cheers filled the stadium as Gandhik Chitre broke through the visitors' central defense to put away the 2 - 0 goal for Grilled. The referee showed Bunnies's Vitaliy Efendiev the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Grilled's Paulino Trindade set up a perfect opportunity for Bilal Mohammad Harun, but the latter failed to score. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up coming through the center. 44 minutes into the game Bunnies managed a counter-attack, but Sunil Patel took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. With 44 minutes played, Bunnies's Sunil Patel received a yellow card for challenging a play with his cleats first. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 74 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.

46 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution. Mohd Marzuki Khairul came on for Kalki Parvathaneni. With the clock showing 46 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. Billy Camperio looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for Mushtag Al-Nameeri, though he would have liked to continue. Vitaliy Efendiev was handed the Bunnies captain's armband. As the game started to slip away for Bunnies, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. Bunnies caught their opponents out with a clever counter-attack down the right wing 61 minutes into the game. Vitaliy Efendiev was there to finish off the move - 2 - 1! After 75 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving Moey Xin Seng off. Teo Chuan Yong took his place. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution. Bilal Mohammad Harun reluctantly made way for Lim An Keng. 80 minutes into the game, Bunnies wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Jerad Meyer gave Wong Ting Yew a quick hug as he left the field. As the 88 minute mark approached, the Bunnies manager decided it was time for a substitution. 薛 (Xue) 康方 (Kangfang) reluctantly made way for Vishnu Tallapaka. The fourth official announced that there would be 1 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The score became 3 - 1 with 89 minutes played, when Grilled were given a penalty. Bhavya Panigrahi made no mistake and increased the home lead. With 89 minutes gone, Grilled's organization began to suffer due to a lack of experience. The match ends 3 - 1. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 75 percent possession of the ball.

Most important Grilled player was Chan Ze Han. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because Bhavya Panigrahi seemed to stumble all over the pitch. Bunnies's best player was Sunil Patel. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by Mushtag Al-Nameeri today.
