Korean 1 - 2 Grilled

12236 punters turned up at Singa Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Francisco José Cornús was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Santi Monreal and Noah Ständer. The match took place on neutral ground. Korean's starters: Luong - Hu, Tze Heng, Dong Guang, Liang Tze - Leibniz, Kongsul, Focşăneanu - Yeow Guang, Eng, Hui Hui.

Grilled's lineup was: Vadalà - Mohammad Harun, Keng Chuan, Chuan Yong - Teck Fu, An Keng, Chitre, Khairul, Baena - Ze Han, Parvathaneni.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 4-3-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 3-5-2. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their extra-terrestrial (16) level with that tactic. His teammates looked on in disbelief as an own goal by Enrique Baena changed the tally to 1 - 0 after 7 minutes. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 25 minutes, Enrique Baena broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper. Cordell Luong made a great block, though. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 74 percent of the time.

46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Lim An Keng gave Chia Kwang Tse a quick hug as he left the field. Manuel Vadalà was caught napping as Lai Tze Heng lifted a ball over him following a free kick, but the ball hit the bar, rebounding into the keeper's arms. After 56 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after Gandhik Chitre made it through the middle and struck home to make it 1 - 1. Nicholas Eng of Korean received a yellow card after 58 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. As the 60 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Kalki Parvathaneni reluctantly made way for Moey Xin Seng on the pitch. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. The visiting Mohd Marzuki Khairul was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 72 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 1 - 2 was the score. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 1 - 2. Grilled had most of the ball, with 72 percent of possession.

Most important Korean player was Choo Hui Hui. Cordell Luong was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Chan Ze Han. Teo Chuan Yong on the other hand, had a terrible day.
