Both teams came out with a similar approach to the match, having chosen to start with a 2-5-3 formation. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their magical (18) level with that tactic. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Moeinsingapore on this day, taking advantage of their brilliant (11) level with that tactic. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
Chan Ze Han, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Grilled put themselves up 2 - 0 when
Moey Xin Seng broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. A bit later, Moeinsingapore's
Juan Camilo Rengifo easily reduced the lead to 2 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. 16 minutes in, Moeinsingapore's
Chua Chu Meng received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally.
Michael Hajer was first to reach a ball launched long through the center from Moeinsingapore's defence 31 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 2 - 2. With 34 minutes gone, Grilled had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However,
Chan Ze Han did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out. Down the middle came
Yang 'The Ox' Feng Da, making a fantastic play that nearly had Moeinsingapore take the lead after 35 minutes, but
Manuel Vadal preserved the tie. Using his strength as an edge,
Yang 'The Ox' Feng Da pressed the Grilled defence to make an error. He wrapped up by scoring 2-3 himself, 36 minutes into the game. Halftime score was 2 - 3. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.
46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Chia Kwang Tse gave
Lim An Keng a quick hug as he left the field. After 54 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
Abhishek Gupta to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 2 - 4. Moeinsingapore showed their counterattack skill 56 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with
Yang 'The Ox' Feng Da scoring uncontested for 2 - 5. Some fine movement on the left led to a Moeinsingapore goal after 63 minutes, making it 2 - 6.
John Kennea was noted down as the scorer.
Chua Chu Meng received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 68 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 2 - 7. The Moeinsingapore fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. As the 88 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Gilbert Webb reluctantly made way for
Hwang Teck Fu on the pitch.
Teo Chuan Yong would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Prokop Mottl entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. The referee announced 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. With 90 minutes on the clock,
Bhavya Panigrahi surprised the guests' goalkeeper with a snappy free kick, which reduced their lead to 3 - 7. The match ends 3 - 7. Grilled had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Chan Ze Han. However,
Hwang Teck Fu made a disastrous appearance. Most important Moeinsingapore player was
Abhishek Gupta.
John Kennea turned in a dismal performance, however.
