Shekar Kannan would be the next to leave the club, as the 35 year-old winger left for Spanish V.52 club Valdesoto C.F., for S$2 million. Brought in to take over from Wu Jinglong on the right flank, Kannan obtained the Number Eighteen shirt, but not quite Wu's indescribable make-it-happen quality.

Kannan's 25 appearances yielding but a single goal - against -= Manchester United =- in cup competition - only underscored his lack of impact, but Tian Yonghang felt it unfair to place too much of it on him.
