pompettes 3 - 5 Grilled
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 3971 to
Stade des civettes.
Yasar Abdullat was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Mariano Cardoso and
Andris Martinsons. It was a very hot day and some players suffered from this, especially those relying on tough physical play or a lot of fast runs. For the technical ones, on the other hand, this was ideal conditions. The following players had been chosen by pompettes:
Zanzan -
Affouchi,
Peko,
Koné,
Haagen,
Mokoko -
Koko,
Bansard,
Konan -
Noël,
Lewandowski.
Grilled's lineup was:
Vadalà -
Webb,
Law,
Carapaica -
田宮 (Tamiya),
Jaška,
Chuan Yong,
Tran,
Dong Chu -
Velho,
Mangoye.
Les civettes pompettes started the game in a 5-3-2 formation, whereas Grilled Birds lined up in a 3-5-2 formation. pompettes clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their outstanding (10) level with that tactic. Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their extra-terrestrial (16) level with that tactic.
José Luiz Velho of Grilled received a yellow card after 12 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. pompettes's
Youssouf Peko placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but
Reggie Haagen couldn't finish.
Moussa Affouchi went down after twisting his right ankle in minute 41, but was able to continue the match none the less. The cannonball from 35 metres by
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) of Grilled was an impressive sight, but didn't make it into the net. pompettes caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 43 minutes into the match.
Akadjé Koko was able to finish off the move - 1 - 0.
Stéphane Bansard had a fantastic opportunity to put pompettes up another goal 44 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Moey Xin Seng came on for
Teo Chuan Yong.
Moey Xin Seng was handed the Grilled captain's armband. After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Heng Dong Chu off the field.
Kalki Parvathaneni took his place. Grilled tied it all up, 47 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by
Kalki Parvathaneni, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1. 1 - 2 was the score with 75 minutes played, after
Radovan Jaška cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Grilled. pompettes played a good counterattacking move down the left 83 minutes into the match, with
Demetriusz Lewandowski finishing well for 2 - 2. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
Kalki Parvathaneni's lightning pace was too much for
Moussa Affouchi who could only look on as the Grilled player blasted one home. 2 - 3.
Dante Tran of Grilled was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. pompettes showed their counterattack skill 89 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with
Stéphane Bansard scoring uncontested for 3 - 3. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 3 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. As neither team had managed to win, extra time was called. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 68 percent of the ball.
The visiting
Atang Mangoye was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 93 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 3 - 4 was the score. After 103 minutes,
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) was massaging his right knee with a worried look on his face, but managed to get up in the end. The visitors added to their lead 106 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Grilled's
Gilbert Webb slid just past the home keeper. 3 - 5. The match ends 3 - 5. pompettes's top performer was clearly
Anthony Noël.
Reggie Haagen on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's best player was
Moey Xin Seng.
Atang Mangoye was a disappointment, however.
